AR Dance Project Competition Team
-
Being a member of the AR Dance Project Competition Team is a commitment to personal growth, teamwork, and representing our studio with excellence. To ensure every dancer is prepared for a successful season, team members are expected to meet the following requirements:
Dancers must be enrolled in the technique class for every style they compete in (for example, dancers competing in jazz must also be enrolled in a jazz class).
Regular attendance is expected. Consistent participation in classes and rehearsals is essential for both individual and team success.
Dancers are expected to arrive on time, prepared, and ready to learn at every class, rehearsal, and competition.
Respect for instructors, teammates, parents, and studio property is expected at all times.
Dancers should practice choreography and skills outside of class to continue improving throughout the season.
Team members must attend all required competitions, dress rehearsals, and scheduled performances unless previously approved by the studio.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to support teammates are expected throughout the season.
Competition dancers should represent AR Dance Project with good sportsmanship both on and off the stage.
Our goal is to help every dancer grow not only as a performer, but also as a confident, responsible, and supportive teammate.

Dancers have the opportunity to showcase their individuality and creativity through solos, duos, and trios.
Solos allow dancers to perform on their own and receive personalized instruction to help them grow as performers.
Duos feature two dancers performing together.
Trios feature three dancers working together as a team.
Dancers participating in a duo or trio are welcome to choose their own partners. If a dancer is interested but does not have a partner or group, the studio will do its best to help find a good match.
Dancers may also choose their own music if desired, subject to instructor approval to ensure it is age-appropriate and suitable for competition. If a dancer prefers, the instructor is happy to select music that best fits their style and strengths.
Costumes will be selected with input from both the instructor and the dancer (or dancers) to ensure they complement the routine while meeting competition guidelines. Hair, makeup, and performance expectations will be communicated before each competition.
All solos, duos, and trios require additional rehearsal time outside of regular classes. Dancers are expected to attend all scheduled private lessons, practice independently, and come prepared to each rehearsal. These routines require dedication, commitment, and consistent effort to ensure every performance is successful.
Solos, duos, and trios are a wonderful opportunity for dancers to build confidence, strengthen their technique, and enjoy a more personalized competition experience while continuing to grow as performers.

Group dances are a fun and exciting part of our competition program, giving dancers the opportunity to perform as a team while building friendships, confidence, and teamwork.
The styles and number of group routines offered each season will vary based on dancer interest, enrollment, and the needs of the studio. Because every competition season is different, group dance opportunities may change from year to year.
Groups may include styles such as jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, clogging, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, or other specialty routines, depending on interest and participation.
Dancers selected for a group routine are expected to attend all rehearsals, practice outside of class, and perform at all required competitions and studio events. Commitment and teamwork are essential to creating a successful group performance.
Our goal is to provide every dancer with a positive, rewarding competition experience while helping them grow as performers and teammates.

Our Production routine is one of the highlights of the competition season! This large group performance brings dancers together to tell a story through creative choreography, exciting formations, and teamwork.
Production is open to eligible competition team members and may include dancers from multiple ages and levels. Participation is based on enrollment, interest, and the needs of the routine each season.
Because Production involves a large number of dancers and detailed choreography, commitment is essential. Dancers are expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals, practice independently, and be present at all required competitions, dress rehearsals, and performances.
Production is a unique opportunity for dancers to build lasting friendships, strengthen their performance skills, and be part of something bigger than themselves. Through teamwork, dedication, and hard work, dancers create an unforgettable performance while making memories that last a lifetime.
